Almost every home has one and we have all come to rely upon the ease and quickness, microwave ovens allowus to cook. However, consumers need to be aware of the dangers of cooking food in the microwave . One such danger is the temperature at which the food is cooked. The high cooking temperature makes the food extremely hot. When food is then removed from the microwave, burns can occur to the human touch.

High temperature and pressure build up can also cause certain items to explode and cause substantial burns, especially to young children. One such item, parents should be careful with are eggs. Incidents have occurred where eggs cooked in the microwave have exploded once cracked and caused second and third degree burns to young children. The best advice one can give, is to keep microwaved food away from children until the temperature has cooled down significantly.
