Attorney Scott Smith of Columbus, Ohio has an informative post addressing safe driving habits and reminding us all, particularly in winter months, that we should all keep a safe distance from vehicle around us when operating a motor vehicle.

Attorney Smith points out that

As a driver, one is required to take into consideration, night driving, weather conditions, hills, curves, turns and poor lighting. The more one encounters difficult driving conditions, the more one must slow to avoid collisions. Injuries and losses that result from a violation of [a failure to follow these rules of the road] will be the responsibility of the at fault driver and payable by the at fault driver's insurance company.

In the words of the captain on the old TV drama Hill Street Blues......Be careful out there.
