An Amish man who apparently fell asleep while driving his buggy died Saturday when the buggy failed to stop at a stop sign and was hit by an oncoming car. The accident occurred approximately 40 miles southwest of Cleveland in Huntington Township.

Joe Keim died of internal chest injuries within minutes of the accident, Lorain County Coroner Paul Matus said.

Family members said the victim apparently fell asleep at the reins. The victim's brother, Isaac Keim, said his brother had worked a long day at a flea market, selling baked goods.

Also injured in the crash were two of Keim's daughters. They were treated at Oberlin's Allen Medical Center and released.

NBC 4 of Columbus has more on the accident.
